Showing children the greatness of

God and the greatness of the Gospel

We desire for children to KNOW Jesus, GROW in Jesus and to SHOW Jesus to the world around them. Kids will experience the love of Christ through the caring volunteers, a safe environment in which to play and learn, and age-appropriate classroom activities designed to point them to Christ. Harvest Kids is a dynamic program consisting of classrooms for Nursery (birth – 36 months), PreK & Kindergarten (age 3 years-6 years), and Elementary (1st grade – 6th grade).

During each weekend service, we offer your child the opportunity to learn the truth of Scripture and how to apply it to their lives. Class time includes Christ-centered worship, a creative and interactive teaching time, fun games, and a time in small groups. These small groups focus on life application of the lesson, prayer and Scripture memory.

The first time that you bring your children from birth through sixth grade to Harvest, please register them at our Children’s Ministry Check-In. Any usher or greeter can direct you there. Our Sunday children’s ministry has age specific areas in which each child is loved and cared for by approved, trained, and responsible adults and youth support staff. All of the children are valued and taught the Word of God in age appropriate classrooms, allowing them to enjoy their time in the Harvest Children’s Ministry.

Philosophy of Ministry

At Harvest, we believe Children’s Ministry is not a babysitting service, but rather a real, vital, life-transforming ministry!  Therefore, we have a group of dedicated volunteers who take very seriously the privilege of caring for, mentoring, and teaching your children.

Each week, our instructors invest time and effort to prepare and teach lessons from our curriculum.  Our curriculum is designed to magnify God by studying His character in the pages of Scripture.  Children can better understand who He is and how we are to respond to Him by studying how His redemptive plan has unfolded and how He has used people to accomplish His purposes.

Safety and Security

All children attend their classes for the entire service.  It is important to register your child at Children’s Ministry check-in.  Workers undergo a detailed application process that includes a background check.

We have a security system in place to protect and care for your children, as well as a means to notify you during the service if you are needed in your child’s class. We also have First-Aid people on notice, an abuse policy in place, and an overall care and control of all areas where children are present.  We seek to serve and care for your family so the children can learn and enjoy their time while you participate in worship without distractions.

Our Curriculum

The Gospel Story is a Biblically based and God-centered curriculum designed for children three years old through the sixth grade. Over a three-year period, this curriculum covers the Old Testament historical books, the life of Christ, and lessons from Acts and Revelation.

Every week, children in each age range learn from the same passage of Scripture in a way that is appropriate for their respective age levels. We call this a “unified curriculum.” A unified curriculum enables families to discuss one passage together each week, reinforcing the

lesson that children have learned in Sunday School.

The Gospel Story is unique in its design to encourage a high degree of interaction between student and teacher. For students in the elementary grades, the Bible lessons are written in a question-and-

answer format. This ensures that students participate in and understand each lesson.

The curriculum includes key truths, objectives, and application points at  the beginning of each lesson to help teachers clearly understand what they want their students to learn. Furthermore, we have provided ideas and activities that will increase the students’ understanding and recall of the lesson.
